Entry Documentation
Nationals of G20 and CEMAC member countries are exempt from requiring a visa for Gabon and are permitted a 30 day visa-free stay. The countries eligible for such visa-free access are Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Cameroon, Canada, Central African Republic, Chad, China, Republic of Congo, Equatorial Guinea, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, the Republic of Korea, Mexico, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Turkey, the United Kingdom, the United States and the European Union. Other countries with visa-reciprocity are Benin, Mauritius, Morocco, São Tomé and Príncipe, South Africa and Tunisia, The authorities in Gabon retain the right to refuse entry and the rights to hold individuals in Gabon if they are in violation of public order, national security and/or state security.
For all other countries not listed above , entry into Gabon is subject to having the correct visa. This can be secured three ways:
- Apply via the e-Visa system: https://evisa.dgdi.ga/
- Apply at the Gabon Embassy, High Commission or Consulate in your country of origin. A list of Gabon diplomatic missions can be found here
- Be issued with a Letter of Invitation by the Government of Gabon
Those seeking an investment or business visa should contact the Agence Nationale de la Promotion des Investissements (ANPI-Gabon), which will work with you to manage your application with the General Directorate of Documentation and Immigration in Libreville.
As well as your visa, you will need the following to enter the country:
- A valid passport valid for a minimum of six months
- A round-trip ticket
- A certificate of yellow fever immunisation
- Visitors should arrive with 45,000 CFA francs (equivalent to around 70 Euros) to enable the cost of the visa to be issued on arrival. This applies whether arriving on a tourist or business visa
- Money changing facilities are available at the arrival airport, if required.
